Module 5

Two-day theoretical and practical course, dedicated to the basic US-guided infiltration of the musculoskeletal system.

DAY 1
Shoulder, elbow, hand, and wrist

Each anatomical region will be systematically studied and treated as follows:

• • Ultrasound device settings
  • Correct use of the probe and on-plane and out of plane U/S-guided procedures
  • Basic U/S patterns
  • U/S infiltration landmarks
  • List of basic pathologies of upper limb that can be infiltrated under U/S guidance
  • U/S-guided procedures: wet-lab.

Aims:  To give physicians the skills necessary to recognise the anatomical structures and potential sites of the main upper limb pathologies, acquiring competence to perform U/S guided infiltration of the relevant area with focus on probe positioning in the long and short axes.

Participants: Physicians who wish to encounter interventional-U/S techniques for the investigation and infiltrative treatment of chronic degenerative pathologies of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.

DAY 2
Hip, knee, foot, and knee

Each anatomical region will be systematically studies and treated as follows:

• • Ultrasound device settings
  • Correct use of the probe and on-plane and out of plane US-guided procedures
  • Basic U/S patterns
  • U/S infiltration landmarks
  • List of basic pathologies of lower limb that can be infiltrated under U/S guidance
  • U/S-guided procedures: wet-lab
